THOMPSON, James "Jimmy" Edward, 61, of Brooksville, Florida, passed away Friday, January 24, 2020 at his home.
Born March 26, 1958 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, he was the beloved son of Hazel Wynell Folsom Thompson and the late William Bruce Thompson. Jimmie was a lifelong resident of Brooksville and a graduate of Hernando High School, Class of 1976. He went on to graduate from the National Aviation Academy earning his certification in FAA Airframe, achieved his mechanic certification for power plants, was a former A&P aircraft mechanic for Air Classic Cargo and former Corporal at Turbine Diagnostic Services. It should also be noted that Jimmie studied chicks at the Academy of American Chicken Pluckers :)
Jimmie is survived by his daughter, Jazmine Lantz of Quechee, Vermont; his mother, Hazel W. Thompson of Brooksville, Florida; sisters and brother-in-law, Debra Jean McConnell (John Clapper) and Lynn & David Merritt, all of Brooksville, Florida; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel, with Reverend David Hope officiating.
