Gerald Thomas Grow

June 16, 1942 ~ May 17, 2020 (age 77)

Obituary

Grow, Gerald “Jerry” T., 77, of Montague, Michigan, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020 in Hudson, Florida.  Jerry was born June 16, 1942.  He was the beloved husband and best friend to his blue eyed love of 56 years, Linda.  Twenty-eight years ago, he and Linda began to split their time between Montague/Whitehall, Michigan; Lima, Montana; and Spring Hill, Florida.  He was the proud owner of Jerry Grow’s Honda in Muskegon and Chalmers Marina of Whitehall.   Jerry was the devoted father of Shaun Grow (Tamara) of Montague, MI; Dana (Darren) Miller of Norton Shores, MI; and Lesley (Dan) Wyma of Delafield, WI.  He was the older brother of Glenna Mickelson of Whitehall, the late William Grow and the late Vicki Blanchard.  Jerry was the fun-loving and supportive Grandpa of Stacey (Chris) Franklin, Richie Young, Brandi Miller, Jacob Grow, Ryan Young, Zach Grow, Morgan Grow, Reece Miller, Corbin Grow, Lily Miller, Olivia Wyma, Claire Wyma and Leum Miller.  He was Great Grandpa Jellybean to Aubrey, Aleiah and Hunter Franklin and Addison and Chloie Grow.  Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Edith Grow.

Jerry wore many hats:  friend, uncle, entrepreneur, coach, deacon, hunter, golfer, fisherman, handyman, boater, inventor of the “Jerry Grow Egg,” dancer, wordsmith and mentor.  He saw the best in people and wanted to help others succeed and believe in themselves.  He genuinely cared about all people he came in contact with and was not afraid to hold them to a high standard.  Jerry didn’t believe in the word “can’t” and would offer you an Oreo at a moment’s notice.  He loved the Lord and was quick to tell you about the difference that the Lord made in his life.  Jerry will be best remembered for his warm smile that lit up the room and the unconditional love that he offered friends and family.  Jerry will be cremated and a memorial will take place later in the year.
