It is with great sadness that the family of Debra “Debbie” Paul announces her passing on Sunday, May 23, 2021. Debbie will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Debbie was very creative and talented. She enjoyed decorating, arts and crafts, antiques, and most of all, spending time with her family. Debbie was selfless, caring, hardworking, and a role model woman and mother.
There are not enough words to describe the type of person she was not only to her family, but to all she encountered. Debbie was faithful in all aspects of her life and will forever be missed.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Paul. She is survived by her children, Jennifer Daniel (Aaron), Lindsey Copeland, and Chase Copeland (Angie); grandchildren, Emelia, Vance, Cason, Blayne, and Kendall; siblings, Gary Vance (Mary Kay) and Cheryl Beil; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will accept visitation from 12:00-3:00pm, Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the home of Chase Copeland. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. “Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you’d walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don’t understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.” The Lord replied, “My precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.”
