Christy Lee (McDaniel) Hagmann August 3, 1957 — May 31, 2022

Christy L. (McDaniel) Hagmann died on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. Her passing was sudden, following complications that arose after a planned surgery.

Christy was born and raised in Evansville, IN and most recently resided in Spring Hill, FL. She was a 1975 graduate of Castle High School (Newburgh, IN). She played volleyball for the Knights and those teams amassed a stellar career record of 45-7 and earned multiple appearances in the Indiana state tournament finals. Christy retired from the Warrick County School Corporation after serving students with specials needs over two decades as a teacher’s assistant at Sharon Elementary (Newburgh, IN) and Oakdale Elementary School (Boonville, IN).

Christy loved her Savior and her family above all else. She was fiercely loyal and generous to a fault. She enjoyed taking care of her garden (she joked it contained more weeds than plants) and hanging out by her pool. Christy’s love of sports continued throughout her life, channeled first into her sons, then to her grandchildren, and lastly, to her beloved Tampa Bay Lightning. She enjoyed Sonny’s Barbecue, laughing ‘til it hurt, buying in bulk at Sam’s Club, and had an insatiable thirst for Dr. Pepper.

Christy is preceded in death by her husband of thirty-two years, Robert J. Hagmann; her father, Everrett Eugene McDaniel; and her mother, Marydell (McCoy). She is survived by two sons, John (LeAnn) and Brandon; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Alexander, Olivia, and Harper; three sisters, Cathy, Linda, and Vicky; and her brother, David (Sonya).

Funeral arrangements are pending at this time. Christy will be interred at Dale Cemetery in Dale, IN.
