CHAPMAN, Bruce Duane, 56 passed away unexpectedly on November 22, 2020 in Lutz, Florida.
Born January 16, 1964 in Tampa, Florida, Bruce is survived by his sister, Elaine Moore (John) and brother, Mike Chapman (Judy); his three children, Chris Portelli, Nichole Chapman (Rone Lopez), and Russell Chapman (Denise), and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Bruce was in the FFA in high school where he developed a love of farming, tractors, fishing, and raising animals. After graduating from Tampa Bay Tech, he worked in various industries before starting a career as a diesel mechanic at the Port of Tampa later moving to Port Manatee where he worked for over 25 years combined.
During this time, he grew his three children into adults always giving them wisdom, advice, and helping them with anything they needed even if it was something he did not wholly agree with. He always prioritized his children and family, and put his needs behind those of his family. He was widely known to have a big heart and to always do right by everyone as a core principal, which he instilled into his children. Some of his greatest memories involved his family, and he got some of his greatest joy from attending family gatherings. He was a great father, brother, friend, mentor, storyteller, and man. He will be greatly missed by so many of us.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30-10:00am, Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel, where Funeral Services begin at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Lake Lindsey Cemetery.
