Our sweet Baylor became an angel on Monday, August 31st, on what would have otherwise been her first day of First Grade. She was surrounded by love and was comfortable and at ease at the time of her passing.
Baylor fought a brave battle against DIPG (diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma) with love, courage, and grace. She has moved mountains in the last 16 months, capturing the hearts of so many, bringing so many back to Jesus in prayer and hope and teaching us all a lesson in love, empathy, and compassion. In her short six years on this earth, she accomplished more than many of us could ever wish to do in a lifetime.
Baylor will be remembered as a sweet, smart, silly, and sassy little girl. She loved unicorns and playing tricks on everyone. She was her Mama’s girl, her Daddy’s best buddy, and had a bond with her sisters, Emerson and Lennon, like no other. She was the most loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. Saying she will be missed is an understatement. Our sweet BayBay has been a huge blessing to our entire family, always lifting us and showing us true love. We are eternally grateful for the time we were able to have with her and hold her in our arms and look forward to the day we will be reunited with her again.
Baylor is survived by her parents, Donald & Carly Beth Nichols; her sisters, Emerson and Lennon Nichols; maternal grandparents, Cheryl Hill & Dean Rusk and Tom & Lynn Mountain; paternal grandparents, Linda Nichols and Kevin Norris.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Sparacia Witherell Family Winery & Vineyards, with Reverend Dan Brown officiating.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking that you please instead consider giving back to the DIPG community and join our #BayitForward movement and donate to the Reach For the Sky Foundation dedicated to DIPG by raising awareness, funding research, and helping other families fighting this horrible battle. You can donate through their Facebook page or email firstname.lastname@example.org for alternate ways if you do not wish to donate through their Facebook page.
