BARBERA, Frank J., 82, of Spring Hill, Florida, died Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Spring Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born January 9, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York to Nicola and Fannie Barbera, and came to Spring Hill 24 years ago from Long Island, New York. He served his country for 8 years in the United States Air Force Reserve. He was an engineer in the electronics industry and a private pilot. He was a parishioner of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church.
He is survived by Nancy, his devoted wife of 58 years; their son: Frank M. Barbera of Long Island, New York; daughters: Carol Cioffi of Spring Hill, Florida and Helen Wiegman of Bradenton, Florida; grandchildren: John, Jimmy, Nikky, Jordan, Peter and Sofia; great-grandson: Leo. He will be missed by all for his patriotic love of country, and his passion for aviation and astronomy.
A Visitation for family and friends will be from 2:00-4:00pm, Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel, where Funeral Services will begin at 4:00pm, with Deacon Ed Smith officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
