HOOSER, Edith G., 98, of Brooksville, Florida, passed away Friday, August 16, 2019 at her home.
She was born May 14, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois and came to Brooksville 46 years ago from Miami, Florida. She was a United States Army Corporal who served during World War II and a member of the Hernando Women's Auxiliary Corps (WAC) in Brooksville, a VFW Life Member of Sumter County, a member of the American Legion Post 99 Brooksville and Cloverleaf Veterans' Association. She was of the Christian faith.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Guy F. Hooser “Tex”. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Rick F. & Karen Hooser of Willow Spring, North Carolina and Tim J. & Anita Hooser of Brooksville, Florida; brother, Leonard Green of Cocoa, Florida; sister, Sandra Trees of Gadsden, Alabama; grandchildren, Maren Smith, Markie Jones, Brett Hooser and Brady Hooser; and nine great-grandchildren.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00-6:00pm, Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel, where Funeral Services will take place at 12:00pm, Thursday, August 22, 2019, with Reverend John Hooser officiating. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery, with military honors.
