Victor G. ClaggNovember 1, 1930 ~ April 16, 2017 (age 86)
CLAGG SMSgt Victor G., 86, died at home with his daughter Karen Caruso and her husband Jason Caruso by his side, 16 April 17 after a long battle with cancer. He leaves his wife of 65 years, Dorothy, two children Mark Clagg (Linda), Karen Caruso (Jason). He also leaves behind a grandson Kyle Clagg (Carrie), two step granddaughters, Sydney and Jenna, and one great-granddaughter Chloe, great-grandson Reece, and a great-granddaughter due in June; and many close friends. Vic was born in Illinois to Kyle and Cora Clagg and joined the Air Force at 17 and was sent to Germany where he drove trucks in support of the Berlin Airlift, and went on to proudly serve his country for 22 and half years. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Air Force never left him, and his love of country was passed on to Mark and Karen who also retire from the Air Force after 20 years each of service. After he retired from the Air Force Vic had a short stint as a used car dealer. He joined the Post Office and moved his family to Homosassa where he worked in Inverness and he retired for good after 10 years. Vic and Dorothy lived in Homosassa for 40 years. They moved to Brooksville in 2003, so he could be close to his second love, golf. An avid golfer, he was a longtime member of High Point Country Club. SMSgt Clagg will be inurned with full military honors at Florida National Cemetery on May 2, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts in SMSgt Claggs memory may be made to the HPH Hospice.
