SEGARS, Dorothy P., 91, of Brooksville, passed away June 18, 2017, at home.
Also known to many as “Mammy”, she was born April 4, 1926 in Florence, South Carolina and came to this area 51 years ago from Camden, South Carolina. She was Southern Baptist, a member of First Baptist Church Brooksville and was a serious Auburn Tiger fan. She was a Pastor’s wife, teacher, missionary, and was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Ed Segars.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Richard Lambright; sons and daughters-in-law, Robby and Denise Segars, Deoraj and Amena Singh; brothers and sister-in-law, Pat Patterson, Jr., Bobby and Barbara Patterson; 8 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for friends will be 5:00-7:00pm, Friday, June 23, 2017 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel and 2:00-3:00pm, Saturday, June 24, 2017 at First Baptist Church Brooksville, where funeral services will begin at 3pm, with Pastors Scott Harris and David Garcia officiating. Burial will be private at Florida National Cemetery.
