Merritt Funeral Home was established in 1982 by David L. Merritt. After working in the industry since 1970, David opened the Brooksville Chapel. The Brooksville location was originally built as a funeral home and was occupied by the Garnett family. Garnett Funeral Home was the first funeral home in Brooksville, but closed in the 1960’s after the passing of Gracie Garnett. After years of serving families in the Spring Hill area the Merritt Family decided to expand in order to meet the needs of the community. In 1998 Merritt Funeral Home’s Spring Hill Chapel was opened. David and his wife, Lynn, and their staff, still work hard to gain the confidence of the families that they serve and the confidence of the community.
